Olena Sloia
Soprano

Olena Sloia was born in 1990 in Reni, Odessa Region, Ukraine. At the age of 9 she started to perform traditional Ukrainian, Romanian and Russian songs. At the age of 16 she was accepted at Glier Kiev Institute of Music. From 2010 to 2014 she studied at Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, in Kiev. Her mentor was Professor Valentina Andreeva. Currently Olena Stroja studies at Madrid High Singing under her mentors Victoria Manso and Francisco Pérez.

 

Olena won prizes at the International Competition of folk singing in Braila (Romania), as well as ”Ivan Alchevski” and ”Hariclea Darclée” International Singing Competitions. She took part in the Master Classes on Vocal Techniques with Renee Fleming, Chris Merritt and Giulio Zappa.

 

Also she participated in IOS Gijon and Tenerife opera studios. As a solist she performed in several concerts in Ukraine, Russia, Romania, Poland and Spain. Besides, she worked with famous orchestras like the Ukraine National Symphony Orchestra, Moldova National Orchestra of Popular Music «Lautari», Ukrainian National Instruments Orchestra, Youth Symphony Orchestra Punto del Este, Orchestra and Choir of RTVE.

 

Olena sang in such concert halls and theaters as Auditorio Nacional de Musica (Madrid), National Philarmonic of Ukraine (Kiev), Teatro de la Zarzuela de Madrid, Auditorio de Tenerife “Adan Martin”, Teatro “Fundacion” de Vigo, Teatro Jovellanos de Gijón, Teatro Principal de Palencia, Teatro Maria Filotti of Brăila. She interpreted the following roles as Liesgen (Kaffeekantate), Oksana (The slippers), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Violetta (La Traviata),Die Königin der Nacht (Die Zauberflöte), Amina (La Sonnambula), Norina (Don Pasquale), Gilda (Rigoletto), Marina (Marina).

 

Last year Olena Sloia was participating in various projects like the Baroque Festival of Sacred Music in Madrid, performances at Auditorio de Tenerife “Adan Martin” and Teatro Cervantes de Málaga.

 

Currently Olena is the soloist of Staatstheater Augsburg.
